Departure: 6am

Rating: 4
Cost: $40

Two hours by van to one of the most unique, travertine dominated streams and riparian areas in Arizona. The flows were restored to the creek on June 18, 2005 after almost 100 years by Arizona Public Service when the company agreed to decommission two small hydropower facilities. The story of this restoration is as fascinating as the birds should be. Expect a typical suite of riparian birds in early spring. Some uneven terrain hiking, and possibly hot sun at times, 30 miles of rough roads total. Box lunch included.
