Join local historian and naturalist, Bill Cowan, on a trip to Camp Verde’s historic salt mine. This area was important to locals from the time of the prehistoric inhabitants to today. Bill will explain the history of the site and its connection to our valley. If you are interested in collecting salt crystals and gypsum crystal formations, bring along a small collecting bag or pail. Transportation is on your own. We will caravan from the event site. You are welcome to bring along lunch or plan to eat at one of Camp Verde’s favorite eateries.
