The Hermit thrush has been described as having the most beautiful, haunting ethereal song of any bird in America. One naturalist describes the song as a "a long, mellow note, proceeded with a clear series of flutelike notes that ascend and descend the scale. These phrases are repeated, each time beginning with a different pitch." This achingly romantic song will turn a walk through the woods into a stroll through an enchanted forest by all. We will also enjoy looking for warblers and other high elevation birds. Join us in our search for the "flutebird".
