WAIVER AND RELEASE AGREEMENT -

Each registered participant will be required to sign an insurance liability waiver before they can participate in the event. Below you can read a copy of this waiver, and you will be sent a printable waiver via e-mail with your confirmation letter after you register.

WAIVER AND RELEASE AGREEMENT

This is a release of liability and waiver of certain legal rights

In consideration for my being permitted to participate in the activities of Verde River Valley Nature Organization, Inc.; DBA Verde Valley Birding and Nature Festival, I agree to the following Waiver and Release:

I acknowledge that birding and nature tours have inherent risks, hazards, and dangers that cannot be eliminated, in an outdoor environment.  I UNDERSTAND THAT THESE RISKS, HAZARDS, AND DANGERS INCLUDE WITHOUT LIMITATION:

           1.Walking in rugged country, including encounters with wildlife and inclement weather conditions.

I understand that these activities may require good physical condition.  I believe I have good enough physical condition to engage in these activities safely.  I understand that I have responsibilities.  My participation in this activity is purely voluntary.  Therefore I,  waive and hold harmless  the Verde River Valley Nature Organization, Inc,   directors, officers,  and volunteers from and against  all claims related to, my participation in this activity including  use of these services, autos  or equipment.

    INDEMNIFICATION

If under eighteen years of age, parent, guardian, or custodian must sign the following indemnification:
In consideration for  the below named minor being permitted by Verde River Valley Nature Organization Inc.
to participate in the activities of Verde River Valley Nature Organization, Inc. which include, without limitation, the use of its services, autos and equipment, I agree to the following waiver, release, and indemnification:

The undersigned parent, guardian, or custodian of the above minor, for himself/herself and on behalf of said minor, hereby joins in the foregoing Waiver and Release and hereby stipulates and agrees to save and hold harmless, indemnify, and forever defend, Verde River Valley Nature Organization Inc.,  their directors, officers, , and volunteers from and against any claims, and NEGLIGENCE made or bought by said minor or by anyone on behalf of said minor, as a result of said minor's participation in the activities of Verde River Valley Nature Organization Inc. and his or her use of the property, equipment, if any,  for myself and on behalf of said minor, further agree not to sue Verde River Valley Nature Organization Inc. as a result of any injury, that said minor suffers in connection with his/her participation in the activities of Verde River Valley Nature Organization Inc.

General Information:

Registration:

We must receive a signed release from all participants prior to attending any activities. You will be able to view this document prior to registering. A copy will be included in your confirmation packet and must be signed and turned in at the registration upon your arrival.

The registration fee for the entire festival is $15 per person. This fee includes admission to the park, parking, access to exhibits and booths as well as mailing and administration costs. The social on Thursday afternoon is also included. Field trips, guided walks, workshops, seminars and some special events have an additional fee.

Beginning February 1, 2015, we will be accepting registration forms for the 2015 festival. You can register directly on our website which gives you the up to the minute status on the availability of the trips. All the information in this booklet is also found on the website. You may also register by mail by filling out the form attached in the center of this booklet or downloading the registration form from our website at www.birdyverde.org. Because of the popularity of the field trips, it is recommended that you register on-line, if possible. This is the fastest method and you can see trip availability in real time.

Group sizes have been kept small to assure the best possible birding experience. Be sure to register as early as possible. Pre-registration will ensure the best availability of field trips, workshops and tours. Please remember that most events have limited seating and reservations will be filled in the order received. Reservations should be received prior to April 20, 2015. After April 20th you may register during the festival at the on-site registration booth at Dead Horse Ranch State Park. There is no registration fee when registering on-site but all trips will be $10 more than the published cost and workshops will be $5 more.

Note: You must be registered for the festival in order to attend any tour, field trip, guided walk, seminar or workshop. 

As in any outdoor experience, you may encounter nature’s hazards. We recommend that you dress appropriately for the weather, wear a hat, proper footwear, use sunscreen, and bring along bug repellent.

Field Trip Cancellation Policy:
The festival committee reserves the right to cancel or revise any event for any reason. If it becomes necessary to cancel a field trip, we will try to place you on an alternative trip. If there is no other trip available that you would like to attend, we will refund the entire field trip fee.

There are no refunds after April 11 for any reason. We post any changes, corrections or additions to the trips and workshops on our website. Although we try to contact our registered participants regarding issues that may affect them, it is the responsibility of the participant to check the website announcements for any changes and to let us know if there is a potential problem.

Camping and Accommodations:
Camping is available at Dead Horse Ranch State Park. Sites include a table and grill. Water and showers are available. Reservations are available and recommended. Few sites are available in the park on a first come-first served basis. Hook-up sites with electricity are $25 per night. Tent sites are $15 per night. Check for availability with the park prior to your arrival. Camping fees are paid directly to the park. Please check for any changes in the fees. The park also has cabins to rent within a short walk to the River Day Use area. These must be reserved well in advance. Call the park at 928-634-5283 for cost, availability and reservations.

Contact the Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce at visitcottonwoodaz.org for information on hotels in the area. Some hotels offer discounts to festival-goers. Please ask when you make your reservations. We encourage you to check with advertisers in the booklet.
